Almost 55,000 homes have currently been affected by the storms, with their belongings and dwellings destroyed.

Persistent precipitation over the last seven days have compounded the already dire situation of the many hundreds of thousands of displaced civilians in the region, as reported by relief agencies.

"Terrible" Night Creates Serious Threats

A spokesman detailed the recent storm as "awful", with downpours so severe that around 15cm (6in) of water gathered on the ground.

"These conditions was exceptionally horrendous for the families. The storms were so strong... And the winds were so powerful," stated the representative.

Officials express grave worry that children residing in tents in soaked attire will fall victim to hypothermia and other illnesses.

Casualties and Extensive Destruction

Medical officials have confirmed that one baby has succumbed from exposure and no fewer than 11 other people have died in structural failures triggered by the storms.

Additional accounts suggest a higher fatality count. Spokespeople stated that several structures had totally fallen and many others had sustained partial collapse.

  • Roughly 55,000 families affected by flooding.
  • More than 40 emergency refuges inundated.
  • Countless residents compelled to move once more.

Aid Distribution Seen as Inadequate

Agencies have stepped up shipments of tarpaulins, warm covers and clothes since the truce began, but they emphasize there is still not enough aid entering.

"Agencies are working relentlessly to provide that relief and to allocate it, but the scale of the requirements is so immense that we are faced with thousands of families and minors who are genuinely suffering each evening," cautioned one spokesperson.

Long-Term Concerns and Ceasefire Provisions

The second phase of the ceasefire includes arrangements for the reconstruction of Gaza, along with post-war governance, the pullback of troops, and other terms.

Humanitarian bodies have stressed the necessity for "greater and continuous relief to respond to pressing and ongoing requirements."

The war was sparked by an offensive in late 2023. Subsequent military operations have resulted in a substantial number of lives lost in the area, as per health ministry data.
