Nigel Farage Accuses Educators of ‘Poisoning Our Kids’ on Racial Topics

The political figure stated that teachers would go on strike within weeks a success at the polls for his party, charging that they are “poisoning our kids” by instructing children that African-Caribbean youth are oppressed and white children oppressors.

At a gathering for a Michigan-based religious institution, the politician expressed his viewpoint on the UK education system, stating that the “Marxist left” had “taken over schooling”.

“I’m anticipating a teachers’ strike soon after securing a victory,” he remarked in response to questions.

“They are corrupting young minds. They are telling them to feel guilt about their nation. They are telling little Johnny, who’s eight, who is black that he is oppressed and little Oliver, who is white, who is eight that he is a perpetrator. They create division, not uniting us. They promote this harmful mindset.”

In response to Farage’s claims, Daniel Kebede rejected the idea that the education system was controlled by Marxists as “nonsense”. He pointed out that industrial action must relate to educators’ working conditions, and questioned whether Reform would attack these immediately upon entering government.

“The politician has crafted his public life on dog-whistle politics and now, like Trump, he is lining up teachers and their unions for a fight,” Kebede stated.

“I think that’s grossly irresponsible. Neither I nor our union – push critical race theory as he claims … Should he become prime minister he would sell out our public services, including education … and the outcome would be catastrophic for education and children.”

The party, which is leading the polls by a significant margin, has not set out much detail on its educational plans and seems not to have appointed an education spokesperson.

Nonetheless, Farage’s remarks suggested the party would overhaul the system and the curriculum. Farage declared: “We face an enormous task with schooling – truly monumental. And, it won’t happen quickly; it will take us years, a long-term effort to reform.”

He stated that gen Z was more open to analytical thought, but millennials were “absolutely hopeless”.

Paying tribute to Charlie Kirk, Farage said: “All I want education to do to foster independent thought – to educate individuals that multiple perspectives exist and you make up your own mind as opposed to what’s happening now where views are labeled good or bad. This is a huge undertaking in the UK and US.”

Reform has previously clashed with the UK’s largest teaching union, after the union leader labeled them “extremist and prejudiced” and described the leader as “a cheap imitation”.

Farage has accused the union head with being “an avowed radical” … someone who is absolutely determined that our children should be poisoned at school, their minds should be poisoned regarding national issues” and maintained that the union is trying to indoctrinate teenagers against Reform.

Almost one million people work in schools in the UK, about half of whom are teachers and the remainder being assistants and administrative personnel. The major education union has hundreds of thousands of members.

National strikes over educators’ salaries and work environment in 2023 led to significant interruptions in schools and millions of days of lost learning for children.

At the US event, the Reform leader also pledged to help spread the online educational material of the institution in the UK. He stated such groups were “key to resistance”, adding that: “I am serious. I’ll assist attract vast numbers of youth to these educational programs. I make that commitment now and I will follow through.”

The college, a small private Christian college, provides complimentary classes. Its website states: “Comprehensive learning is vital for well-being and to maintain the benefits of freedom. It offers these excellent programs for no charge to every interested learner.”
