The Grave Allegations The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of numerous sexual offences – including some against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021. A deputy chief CPS official stated, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to assist a thorough and intricate police inquiry, carefully reviewing the evidence to establish that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.” The Investigation These allegations follow what police described as a “detailed inquiry” into reported sexual offences at two hospitals: the Royal Stoke university hospital and Russells Hall hospital. The defendant will appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January. Breakdown of Charges Prosecutors outline the forty-five sexual offences include: Fifteen counts of assault. 17 counts of assault by penetration. Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13. Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration. 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration. Police have asked anyone with concerns to contact the relevant police force.
