More than two weeks subsequent to the heartbreaking passing of celebrated film director Rob Reiner and his partner, photographer Michele Reiner, the entertainment community are still paying respects to the duo.

‘Life is Pain Without You’: Cary Elwes Remembers His Director

Sharing on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who was featured in Reiner's 1987 classic *The Princess Bride*, mentioned he just recently felt prepared to share openly about his deep grief.

"Sufficient time has elapsed that I can finally express my sorrow into words," shared Elwes, adding that his introductory moment with Reiner made him fall in love. "As we began sharing more moments together I realized this was someone I desired in my life."

The actor posted never-before-seen clips from the film, remarking that he doesn't recollect "any day without joy".

"This story is about love, loyalty and sacrifice. Values that Rob held dear. That is part of the many reasons he was the ideal person to guide it," Elwes continued.

He additionally honored Michele Reiner, noting: "To say that they were a incredible duo would be an oversimplification. My heart still pangs every time I recall you." He finished with a quote from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but life is pain without you."

Martin Scorsese Recalls a Colleague and Comrade

In a separate essay, revered director Martin Scorsese paid homage to Reiner, whom he first met in the 1970s.

"Immediately, I loved spending time with Rob. We had a natural affinity for each other. He was uproarious and sometimes sharply witty, but he was never the kind of guy who would dominate the room," Scorsese said.

Scorsese pointed out Reiner's supporting role in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, portraying the father of the main character.

"He was skilled at improv with the best. He was a virtuoso at comedy, he worked wonderfully with his co-stars, and he understood the emotional dilemma of his character," Scorsese added.

Court Proceedings: Autopsy Reports Sealed

In a new development, a Los Angeles court official ruled to prevent the publication of the Reiners' medical examiner's reports, at the request from the LAPD.

A judicial mandate put a restriction on the cases to prohibit the public release of "all case details, documents, files or images" pertaining to the active case.

The relevant authority had previously confirmed their deaths were the consequence of homicide, with a public database noting the cause as "injuries from a sharp object".

Fallout and Commentary

After the tragedy, public personalities offered varying responses.

Ex-President Donald Trump posted on the matter, making divisive statements that were met with immediate backlash by several individuals.

Podcaster Joe Rogan contributed his criticism to the those speaking out recently. Conversing on his podcast, Rogan described the remarks as "disappointing" and implied they revealed a concerning lack of empathy.

Rogan finished by proposing that an adviser should have acted when the choice to weigh in on the tragedy was made.
